Other Groups That Were Active in Our Watershed

Moshannon Creek Watershed Coalition

From 2001 to 2014, the MCWC worked to improve the Moshannon Creek watershed. Many of the recovery plans for the upper part of the watershed were developed by their efforts. They disbanded in 2014.

Wood Duck Chapter of Trout Unlimited

Multiple treatment systems for abandoned mine drainage were built in the Cold Stream drainage due to the efforts of the Wood Duck Chapter. This chapter of Trout Unlimited has disbanded. The systems they built need maintenance and monitoring.

Emigh Run/Lakeside Watershed Association

The Emigh Run/Lakeside Watershed Association still exists as a legal entity but they are no longer active. Their efforts led to the completion of two treatment systems in the Emigh Run watershed. They also were involved in building treatment systems for Hubler Run, which is outside of the Moshannon Creek watershed.
